Please join California Board of Equalization Member Fiona Ma, CPA; State Senators Nancy Skinner & Connie M. Leyva; and Assemblymembers David Chiu, Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, Evan Low & Brian Maienschein for an exclusive preview screening of the new HBO documentary, I Am Evidence, and a post-screening discussion with local and national experts about the backlog of untested rape kits in California and across the United States.

Produced by actor, director, and Joyful Heart Foundation Founder & President, Mariska Hargitay, I Am Evidence tells the story of four survivors whose rape kits went untested for years as they navigate their way through the criminal justice system and find that, so often, the system is broken.

The mission of the Joyful Heart Foundation is to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, support survivors’ healing, and end this violence forever. Learn about the rape kit backlog on Joyful Heart's End the Backlog site.
